well KM, not all helpers run scams....

my sister's DH arrived with her first 7 months' salary withheld to pay agent fee. when she first arrived, she didn't even have pocket money and didn't go out on Sundays, her rest day. and yes, i did what smog, or others do, i offered her to come help me each weekend for a few hours, and gave her a few hundreds and transportation so that she can have just "something". and as soon as she got some save up, i asked her to come every other weekend, less and less (i never needed help in the first place)..... so that she can have her rest day. she has just finished her contract and going back home to get married.

not all DHs run scams.

KM, I visit my girlfriend's village more than once a month on average. I had previously been introduced to this neighbour and on one occasion last year it was clear even to my non-medical eye that she was critically ill - in extreme pain and hugely bloated. I have no reason to believe that those around me were lying when they said that she needed frequent dialysis to keep her alive but that her family could not afford it. No-one actually asked me for any money, but that didn't make it any less difficult to walk away.

My girlfriend went to the funeral a few weeks later.

This is a bit of a red herring, isn't it? When is it OK to tell lies to get hold of other people's money? That's usually classed as fraud or deception.

Juno there are many professions in which people exaggerate, tell lies, half truths and make misrepresentations in order to get someone else's money.

Not especially, but no need to pick out Filipinas when half of Hong Kong is equally as ethically flexible.

Keymaker is suffering from his own special problems – one of arrested development I’d say, to judge from his fantasies about women’s breasts.

He’s come across a few Filipinas who convert such imagined delights into hard cash, and left him an embittered man.

Hahahaha... I can't say I've been involved with any. Try again Bunthorne.

I might add that I have heard my fair share of their sob stories
