Congrats X-A, although I'm not much surprised after your "potentially huge news coming soon" comment you made the other day.

Looks like you timed that PC purchase perfectly. Was it a self-congratulatory present for slipping one past the goalie?

:-)

Pass one my congrats to the strife as well.

Congrats XA, but no need to change your lifestyle. Just look at Lola, BB and LT. They must have 18 latchkey kids between them, but that doesn't stop them spending all their time down the pub.

Okay then, Top Tips for Post-Birth Trauma:

1. Wet wipes ~ not for baby (cotton wool & water is your best option for cleaning muck-laden baby butts) but for wifey... whether she's had an episiotomy or not, dry toilet tissue on yer tender bits might as well be sandpaper.

2. Fybogel (I think that's what it's called ~ the orange-flavoured soluble fibre drink thing) to make doing that first post-birth poo less of a petrifying prospect.

3. Maternity pads need to be big, soft & cushiony ~ like pillows between yer legs. You bleed like nothing else you've ever seen post-birth and ordinary sanitary napkins, even the giant "nightwing" jobbies, are again like sandpaper on tender girlie bits. Ideally, you want to find the old-fashioned looped variety which you thought had gone out back in the 60s.

4. If an episiotomy is performed, pray to god the doc used soluble stitches....

jesus f**king christ!!!

I think I'll adopt.

Sabrina, don't just stare at it. Eat it.

DADDY'S GONNA EAT YOUR FINGERS ...

This one is for everyone who... a) had kids b) has kids c) is going to have kids d) knows a kid e) was a kid

I was packing for my business trip and my three year old daughter was having a wonderful time playing on the bed. At one point she said, 'Daddy, look at this,' and stuck out two of her fingers.

Trying to keep her entertained, I reached out and stuck her tiny fingers in my mouth and said, 'Daddy's gonna eat your fingers,' pretending to eat them. I went back to packing, looked up again and my daughter was standing on the bed staring at her fingers with a devastated look on her face.

I said, 'What's wrong, honey?' She replied, 'What happened to my booger?
