Wife is away so i can kick back on the sofa this weekend and watch a whole DVD drama series back2back. I'll finish Prison Break season 1 tonight so need to visit HMV to stock up.

Any recommendations ? UK/US series. Prefer crime/drama/thriller rather then scifi/supernatural.

I've had The Shield season 1 gathering dust in the draw for a year - any good ?

The shield is awesome... after the first season, i'm sure you'll go out to get the rest of them.

Other good choices:-

House
Boston Leagal
Lost
Sopranos
24
Nip /Tuck

Also if you haven't seen Entourage, that is a really good show... it's more comedy than drama, but it's great stuff!

If you follow CSI, then the latest series have been improving. I'm not sure whether the latest series are out yet, CSI LV Series 7, Miami series 5 and New York 3...

Have to agree i lost Lost towards the end of the 1st season...it just seems to go on...and on....and on...and on
House - Done that
Boston Legal - good idea. Have caught a few episodes on the telly and William Shatner is very funny
Sopranos - tried many time sbut could never get into it
24 - Done that
Nip/Tuck...Hmmm,. surely gets a bit samey after a while - i mean how stories about boob jobs can they do.

Looks like The Shield is favourite then

CSI plots get wackier all the time - surely the whole thing is tongue-in cheek by now.
Closer is good, but dunno if it's on DVD.

Shark is alright. If you like legal dramas that is.

HKB - yup Shield is superb, done that !

Anyone else watching this second series of Prison Break? I can't believe how appallingly cr*p it is, compared to how excellent the first series was....I mean some of the stuff is getting so corny and unrealistic, it's sad.....for me, it got off to a really bad start when they were stranded in the middle of an enormous airfield (having missed their escape plane) and somehow they managed to escape (on foot no less) the entire US Police Force chasing them in cars ! I'm giving it maybe one more episode before I switch off....

Whatever...

my name is earl. (really sweet and fun series)

Life on Mars (series 1) (BBC production about a copper that goes into a comma and is sent back to 1973, interesting to see the old 70's crap), the series is bloody good.

I'm watching the second series of Prison Break and am enjoying it. The concept behind the 1st series was novel and that was a big draw factor but now they're out, it's interesting to see what happens to them and how they try and get out of sticky situations. An added bonus for some people is the cute Wentworth Miller and hunky Dominic Purcell...

Think the 2nd season is about how to get that $5mil and escape that FBI agent and how to get Burrow's son out.

And YES I'm over that cute Wentworth Miller. Need to get my hands on the Dinotopia mini series.

Last night we just finished the very last episode of Prison Break that we have on the computer, the next one is yet to be shown on telly in the states... I feel lost now, what are we going to do the coming nights without it...

IT's not, the first season is still being aired, in the US, and has also started airing here in HK on Star World.
