Hi there, My family and i are movig to HK on 3-4-07. We will be staying in de ricou serviced appartments with a view to finding somewhere permanent to live whilst we are there. We have 2 small children aged 5 and 2. Is there anything that we should definitely bring over from the uk that we might find very expensive in HK, or is everything priced about the same as england. Thanks Melissa

Stuff is cheaper out here generally... never more expensive. Sometimes the same price, but mainly cheaper.

Depends on what you buy. Electronics is definitely cheaper here than in the UK, but some toiletries and any favourite foods from the UK will be more expensive on the whole. Bringing some favourite foods/ drinks will help tide you over until you find the larger western-orientated supermarkets where you'll be able to find most food items from the UK. Vitamins are also cheaper in the UK than in HK. Books in English are also usually cheaper in the UK but they are a bugger to bring over. If you're well-endowed in the chest area, bring extra bras then cos it's difficult to get nice, pretty bras in larger sizes.

That's very impractical to carry much on travel.........20kgs limit per person in the flights. In fact, in general it's cheaper to shop just about anything in Asia. If your mainly one mind to Western stuff....then it will be a bit expensive, depending on where you will end up shopping....example, IFC Department Store, they are extremely expensive. The smart way is to bring kids necessary vitamins or any of the drugs that kids needed most and the rest..............leave it in UK.
I wanna know
