Bom Dia,

The Chick and I are looking to go to Macau for a couple of days during the Chung Ming / Easter period.

Anybody know where we can get a good deal? We've tried a few places around Ngau Tau Kok and Kowloon Bay, the best price we got was $1,250 for an overnight stay.

Has anybody else had the pleasure of visiting Macao? If so, I'd be mighty grateful for any tips that you could give me.

Adeus,
Gav

It's expensive these days, doubly so on HK holidays. I'd be surprised if you'd do much better than $1250, particularly if that includes ferry tickets.

Back in the good old days you could get the Westin for less than a grand...

Suggestion :

Taks ferry to Macao, go directly to the Casino and play 625 HK$ on the red (or the black... Your choice).

If you win... Stop there (the hard part) ! and enjoy the week-end with the Chick

If you lose, take the next ferry home and Watch DVD all week-end...

Everytime we thought about staying at the Mandarin or Westin in Macau, checked the price and would gave up the thought and decide to go to Thailand instead. It's about the same price and the hotels are much nicer.

Muito obrigado for the response folks,

We've managed to find a place in Telford Plaza that quoted us $650 for an overnight stay, which includes evening meal, breakfast, and ferry tickets. We haven't booked yet but I'm not sure we will get a better deal than that.

I will be going to Thailand at some point, Shazza, but I really want to visit Macau and take in the whole Sino-Latino experience.

Expect a pic of my ugly mug to be taken next to the Ruinas de Sao Paolo sometime soon.

Adeus,
Gav

OMFG for such price? did you see pictures of the ferry and your hotel? i am sorry but for such price and inclusive meals and ferry i wouldnt expect to be sleeping in a bed, it will probably be a shed, and the ferry will probably be a ride on a smugglers vessel, sitting atop the ccardboard boxes with drugs :)

why treat your "chick" omfg what a way to speak about your woman, so why treat your chickl to such a cheapie?

I'm not under the alkafluence of inkahol that some thinkle peep I am. It's just the drunker I sit here the longer I get."

She did the talking at the agency yesterday, not me. As she's a native of HK, and the majority, if not all, of the customers of the agency are locals, I think it was best that she made enquiries.

If you don't hear from me after the holidays then you know what has happened.

PS. She very much looks after me, I'm still unemployed here!

Adeus,

But Telford Plaza is in Kowloon Bay and not in Macau.

I think the use of grammar by some of the users on this site is more than enough to bring a tear to the eye!
