Sighing roughly, Paps reached for her vimto. "Bloody hell, he drank it." she shouted at no one in particular and kicked the pick-up truck door open. That's it, she thought. I've absolutely had it. He's forever stealing my vimto.
She grabbed a chain from the truck bed and fastened it around the outhouse. Running back to the winch, she found herself smirking. Serves him right, she thought and clasped the winch to the chain linked s**tter.
She threw herself into the driver's seat and revved the motor, then popped the clutch and lurched off in third gear.
Crack, swoosh.
Through the rearview mirror she spotted the outhouse swaying from side to side and imagined Spanner hanging onto the toilet seat for dear life. Grinning, she slid the old beater into fourth headed down the coast road.
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
