There are a few good songs this year but the UK's by far the worst... null points for them!

I quite like Ukraine this year... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGLUk9VqbrU

But the best ones are France and Sweden! Can't wait to see 'em in Helsinki!

Does the op's post prove he is not a looney?

If so, does this mean he deserves respect?

Let's go clique hunting: Load Toad, Skinny, Westdoor, Bunthorne, Keymaker, Beer Boy, Lola, Gav, puyi, AXA, Tocque Blanche

Looney is a word Westdoor likes to call people.

It means he thinks they are mentally ill.

Possibly a little too post modern for the judging panels methinks.

On a more positive and less bizarre note, Amy Winehouse has been my newfound music sensation. She's probably history by now in the U.K., but over here in the States people are eating up her music with a spoon. It's hard to imagine that someone at the tender age of 23 could have such a soulful, moving voice. The music itself is definitely not your ordinary bubble-gum-pop stuff or cop-shooting-women-pimping-drug-dealing hip-hop that's dominating the American music industry today. It's a combination of jazz + soul + R&B, which I think contributes to Winehouse's remarkable success - she's offering something very unique and it's so refreshing to see that music can be done in such a way that makes you see the world differently.

Limewire-able songs by Amy Winehouse:
Stronger Than Me, Rehab, You Know I'm No Good, Back to Black

And she's a bit of a nutter as well. Which is great.

Yes as an individual she's highly disturbing, but I think her personality and "issues" make her music what it is (the same probably holds true for many other musians), and that's a very special thing.

Mentally ill is a special term that Westdoor loves to say.

He only knows about 10 words.

Well it was hardly a surprise

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6651515.stm

"The Sunday Mirror said the "cheesy quartet" made the UK "the laughing stock of Europe" at the song contest, won by Marija Serifovic of Serbia.

"Scouch," added The People, which described Britain as having only just "escaped a 'nul points' humiliation".

And "Scooch nosedive at Eurovision" was the headline in the Sunday Times.

"It wasn't a disaster - more of a crash landing," the paper added. "

Do people actually still watch that stuff?
Was very surprised that TVB/ATV news actually gave it some airtime last night.

The nouveau Eurotrash take it very seriously these days, so a p**s take is never going to win. Plus the politicisation of the voting is just comical.
