Climb, climb some more, then after that, do some more climbing... all the way to the top!

I was there a few weeks back, even though the weather forecast said rain every day, we did not have a drop.

We have also gone to see the Proboscis monkeys, which is a good day out.

The North Borneo railway is not running this year, due to track replacement works (sound very buch like British Rail !!!).

Yes, you can dive, but apparently visibility and coral/fish aren't so good. There's a marine park near there and several companies take groups out. However, it's more for beginner divers. I read somewhere there's a seasonal problem with jellyfish?

Go over to Sipidan/Mabul.

oh paps, if you're planning to go to the orangutan sanctuary, you may want to book the domestic flight ahead of time. i couldn't go when i was in KK because all flights were full.

We had the same problem getting over to the sanctuary the other week.

This is another one attached to one of the hotels down the cost from KK. It normally only allows its own guests in, but if you ask you may get in. The in-laws managed to get in the other week.

See if I have to make too much effort to do anything I won't be arsed.. I just want a sunlounger a good book and a man to rub cream into my back ...

You can do it overland, but it would take ages.

Even if you get a flight, I seem to remember it leaves around 7am (ish)

Went about 3 years ago Paps. I think its the Shanrgi La Rasa Ria (?) that has its own bit of rainforest with Orang Utans which I though was great. Worth a trip IMHO.

Plenty of diving around the outlying Islands, usually a 15-20 min fast boat trip away. Well, it had coral reefs and plenty of multi coloured fish so as far as I was concerened it was good!

Gladys and I are heading to KK from the 10th to the 15th. Should be a nice little trip. Hope you have a blast as well, Paps.

We were in KK last month. Sepilok we visited 5 years ago and it was a great day, wanted to go again this time with mum and dad but a) flights full b) hotel pick up 5.10am c) was going to cost around $1500HKD just for the flight...mega expensive. Once we'd covered the flights were full with the travel agent she told us about the Shangri La Rasa Ria hotel that does daily feeding 10am & 2pm. Normally it is for the hotel guests however they do allow outsiders in if you call in advance, it's around $150 entrance fee - well worth it.

There's also a Sunday market but we were too busy chilling out to go there.

Have a great hol Paps

Do make the effort though to go to the Rasa Ria, the orangutans are well worth it.

being vertical on a sun longer for 5 days sounds painful. Recommend you try horizontal.

OK - so what do we do about spending money? Take some with us, or rely on the hole in the wall?

have stayed in Rasa Ria few years ago (just after it opened) recommended. If you interested there is also a massive cave (bats) nearby, you can take boat trip to the entrance, then paddle boat tour in the cave by tour guide. Return on boat or hike through jungle.

We will consume 85 million barrels of oil today, what's going to be left for tomorrow?

Take some ringott with you. As always you can sign in the hotel and pay by c/card at the end of your stay.

Have a good one!

We're going to KL for the Grand Prix so no sun loungers there, just an action packed long weekend!
