there is a bank of china atm on the main drag near the backpacker area. near the jokang temple ...was only one I could find...after that no other atms in shigatse or gynaste so carry all the yuan money...its a pain carrying 100 yaun notes
oh and the potala palace they only let in a few hundred a day so its best to buy a ticket the day before and that way you can get in as its popular and worth the visit
