hi,
are there any specialty tours and activities that I can sign up for in Hong Kong? Tours around the region as well as within Hong Kong. Any contacts? What are the prices like?

how about calling your nearest Travel Agent? You can find all the numbers in the SCMP. Stupid questions from opposite the road forced me to be a member from this site, please don't ask something here what you can find easily everywhere, by keeping your eyes open. This forum is created not for dummies, but for poeple realy want to know something whatfor the info is not easy available. Your question falls in the categorie, where i find a Mc Donalds in HK. SORRY FOR MY NASTY REPLY, BUT I AM VERY SERIOUS ABOUT THAT.
almost always friendly and polite

hi Stephanie, ignore Mango everyone else does.......
......anyway back to your question, there are lots of tours, depends on you really. They vary in price from free architectural walking tours upto extreme biking tours across Guangzhou, covering 80km/day. Or pilot training, para-gliding, scuba diving, etc.
There a tourist type trips organised via dragonair for a long weekend up to Guilin, Xian, Biejing, Shanghai, Malaysia, etc. these types of tours including hotels are pretty good value. And you can alway escape of the tour and do your own thing.
Go treking in Napal, climbing in Kota Kinablo, lots to chose from.
hope this helps, perhaps a little info about what you are looking for might help.

Stephanie> I agree with hongkonger. Mango is in his manic stage now...he wrote his sign as "always friendly and polite"when he was in his dipressions. He is an MDP patient. So you just can ignore him.
My short advice for you is to visit Kowloon hotel...they organize very good short trips also quite reasonable. When my parents were here...they really had a nice sight seeings organized by them.
have a great sight seeing.
I wasn't kissing him, I was just telling his lips a secret!!!

hI, and thanks for the input. and yes, will ignore mango.
as for the activities, i am interested in tours like the free architectural tours, or paragliding or tours focused at a particular theme, always found those to be more interesting. DO you know of any companies that organised these kind of things? Or even companies that can customise activities to your interest? if so, do let me know, would like to try them out.
Thanks

There are many organisations that arranged themed trips, typically available for members, like the Royal Geographic Society HK, Asianic Society, Diving clubs, etc.
Most groups and organisations arrange some type of outing for their members which is based on the groups focus, whether that is history, geography, etc. Another example, the HK Automobile club have regular driving trips in China.
I don't know of a particualr travel agent that could help, I reckon you would need to investigate yourself. If your inclined for sporty type activities, grab a copy of Action Asia.
