I will possibly change jobs over this summer and might need to look for a new crib as the current one is provided by my employer. I was thinking about going sometime next weekend to check out a place in Ma On Shan called the Horizon Suite Hotel. Does anyone know anything about this place or does anyone know of any other places similar to this?

Here is the website: http://www.horizonsuitehotel.com/eng/index.html

Any comments would be appreicated. Thanks in advance.

They run a fairly regular shuttle bus service to and from Shatin town centre (as well as a couple of other places), which would make your life a little easier to get to other places. Also, there's no need to pay a deposit which is another plus too. Someone I know spent some time there whilst their home was being renovated. I'll ask them for some insight and let you know asap.

Have family that stays there every time they come to town. The price is not cheap.......although they regularly advertise it at about $9,000 that's for a years contract, if you can get it. Just rented a place there short term for the family at $18,000.

That said, it's ok in terms of transport, but I think my wife does pay a deposit...

Anything else specific, just ask.

when they say all inclusive rates (like on the link)....are they meaning that for 8600 you walk in to their (obviously the smallest and worst location no doubt) room...just as its advertised? or are there some hidden costs or something that aren't obviously shown?

also, no mention of broadband ...is that a given..or no?

saw no one bedrooms? looks like none there.

thank you

There is also the Harbour Plaza resort hotel that does the same sort of deals (price are all inclusive). We stayed there a couple of days, it's nice.

That's not a bad option either jesswill.

has the one bedrooms....only thing is...wireless is in lobby....and cord in room...but sounds like its a pay service in room, but will check this one out.

thanks

Since the place first opened years back, my wife's family has stayed there and never got that price. The range over the years was from about $12-$18,000.

The lowest rate they post doesn't include anything, ie; utlities, cleaning etc. And again, it never seems to be available.

A lot of teachers stay there that teach in the new schools that have been opened around here so, they really don't offer that rate.......

Master bedroom is typical of H.K. step out of the bed on either side and you can touch the wall by raising your hand.....extra bedrooms are for a kid only.
