So how did this Practical thread degenerate into a discussion on LMOPQ again?
Take it to the Playground please...

.
The problem with instant gratification is that it takes too bloody long...

I haven't done the daily commute but have taken the 962 into town, and it's a PITA - the road is twisty, often choked with traffic trying to dodge the tunnel tolls at Tai Lam, so loads of trucks coming down from China. Same applies if you're doing the driving - the truck drivers don't give a toss about road safety and there've been horrendous accidents.

Did that route this morning for the first time, it's like a horror version of the Wacky Races.
Couldn't do that every morning, bloody nightmare.

used to live 5 mins down the road from GC in a village house (toward HK Island on Castle Peak Road) and did the 7am commute for 2 years. Mornings were not bad if you got a seat (many standing room only rides and I mean lips-against-the-windscreen full)...took exactly 40 mins to SOGO, 30 to Jardine House in Central. The killer and eventually the reason I left for 'the Island' was the homeward commute. Leaving SOGO at 4:45, I NEVER got home before 6:30, after crawling through Adm. and Central...I wouldn't do it againt..too many hours of life wasted for little upside

Did you ever try taking the MTR to Tsuen Wan, and a bus from there? That way you miss the island traffic at least.

at that time of day, it would mean standing room only on the island line, then the human misery that is admiralty interchange, then most likely SRO well into the tsuen wan line, then sro on a very slow 61M from tai wo hau stn onto tuen mun road, or 52x every 20 mins from cheung sha wan (which i seem to always miss by 1 minute)...yeah, i tried other alternatives...even train to Jordan to minibus from hell down castlepeak road...

in the end, at least from CWB i got any seat i wanted (second stop from terminus) and 90 mins of fitful sleep...

thus fulfills my whining quota for the day

Hi. Scallop. Mango is living in Gold Coast.

LMOPQ - What was the point of that post? I don't know Mango, and knowing that he lives there means more to you, obviously, than it does to me. So, a completely irrelevant and self indulgent post.

A precursory reading of your most recent contributions to the site confirm for me what I had thought upon seeing your avatar, reading your post, and your choice of emoticon. Namely that you are a shameless attention seeker. The worst thing is that that it would seem from the picture you posted that you are a woman approaching middle age. Shouldn't you know better?

In my heart of hearts, I hope that what you post is a true reflection of your mental state in reality, as if you are indeed mentally retarded, then you are relatively safe to society.

However, I have a grim suspicion that this LMOPQ character is indeed that, a character invented by you under the misguided pretension that it is witty or funny, or in some way parodic.

You're not that good a writer, and the idea is tired.

And nobody cares.

Give it a rest, eh?

Hi. Scallop,
I won't count myself as a shameless person. Sorry. .. ...... ...
Sincerely,
LMOPQ- she is perfect lol

LMOPQ, seeing as you are even more local than me, why not offer some useful advice instead?

Scallop: if you are able to travel at non-peak times, GC may be OK. But if your job means you have to travel during rush hour, then best forget it.
