Good to see you back here Natasha.
Both cities are great places. But my recommendations will be well out of date because it's been 15 years. Still you must go to the Prado in Madrid, as I'm pretty sure that's still there. And just enjoy the street life, markets and restaurants. I think you will enjoy both cities.

Mallorca beaches are quiet and beautiful but I couldn't stand the cold water- and I went there May/June; great weather for getting a Med tan though. Also, take a train ride from Barce to Monserrat- the monestary up there and the sights in general are just lovely. The Monks make and sell their own chocolates and caramels- worth taking some home.

Both long time faves, I'd add Lisbon to the list as well, do go there another time.
Barcelona: - all the Gaudi stuff (Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell, Casa Batllo, La Pedrera) - nightlife - people look pretty sharp out there, and stay up really late. Long long time ago before '92 Olympics it was pretty easy to get mugged in the old town and some other blocks around Ramblas, but it became much safer since. No idea though how it's been past few years. - late breakfasts somewhere near Ramblas (consequently, people get up late as well) - football (guess no matches this time of year?) - concerts - Miro museum - beach resorts nearby (if you have time for a day trip by train)
Madrid - royal stuff, museums - tapas bars - football - concerts - go to see a movie, this connects you better to this city of Almodovar
And of course, great food & wine everywhere: enjoy...

> what is moustaches ?? > heard now is pretty hot in Greece so I assumed more less the same in Spain, but the sea water still cold ? > rain a lot in summer ?? > my friend asked me to buy him a bottle of local drink, something like the whisky (not sangria), waht's exactly is that ?
>> Yes will see the bull flt but not to have their meat, maybe not, i guess key >> already experience that ages ago, thx for reminder
Thx to all. Long time no see. How do you do ?

speaking of a local drink- try (and I do say this with utmost conviction!) TRY to get a bottle (if not, a taste) of what they call as Crema Catalunya- its a creamy type of liquor- i'm guessing made with vanilla. Had a sip of it after dindin one time and it was heavenly but the hostess said it was much 'prized' that not just anyone can find it commercially available... at some restos, don't be suprised if they serve you a flan/custard when you ask for it - those are anyways delicious too.

Yes all animal cruelty happens outside the UK.
Lets be honest with ourselves UK has had its fair share of cruel traditions to animals. I remember a TV program that went describing all the things done to animals as part of celebrations, then went on to ask what country was that in... Turkey? Greece? no England. Then named each of the town cities where they done. I think Hungtindon had a pretty sick one, don't remember clearly something involving donkeys or horses.
