Anyone stayed there or commuted to/from central from there.

Looking for any thoughts on the place that might influence a decision to take up residence for a bit.

they say its a one hour trip into central....but its far out....any thoughts anyone?

Or

any thoughts on Tin Shui Wai?....................or an hour of travel time to central...?

We spent a weekend there last year to enjoy their swimming pool it was really nice. The room was really big with a nice kitchen.

I think it is a bit less than an hour to central but it depends what time of the day you have to be travelling, there are express buses to central.

Tin Shui Wai isn't bad at all to be honest. There is a really nice park just near the hotel, and a cinema and shopping mall around the corner with a few restaurants (we tried a Japanese and a Vietnamese that were nice and cheap) scattered around and a decent public library. To be honest it is a very quiet area and even though it has got a bad reputation (it's also called "tragic city" because it is one of the areas in HK with the most domestic problems and poverty) you don't see any of that.

up to not much

And HK's new Wetland Park is right next door. It's quite good.

thankyou all for your input. I'm seriously considering it......assuming they don't try the 'bait and switch' with me....

they said they have the room i want.....so we'll see tomorrow....

In any case, I'll give honest feedback on my experience (if any) with them.

thanks again,

I have a mate in town stopping there for three weeks - I haven't seen it but he phoned me yesterday to arrange to meet up and he said it was a great place to stop esp. as he was on a budget.

You used to speak the truth.
But now you're clever.
