URGENT - visa to vietnam

Can anyone please tell me if one needs a visa in advance of arriving in vietnam or if you can get it when you land?
I am traveling with americans and a Brit - are there different requirements?
My agent says she needs out passports for 5 working days - is this really true?

From memory, out visa's took a couple of days to sort. We personally took them down to their office in Wan Chai to get it done.

go to the vietnam consulate (wan chai road, across from the hotel (need to find that). you can get instantly, single or multi, but it comes at an extra cost.
If I remember well I got a 6 months visa, same day pick up, for 1600 HKD. If there's no time pressure you get it in 3 days for 800 or something

It's three working days normally, but they'll rush it through in a day if you need them to. Not sure about extra costs if they do that though.
