Three pints? Steady on now!
I think I'll give up the shandy drinking as it's not having the desired effect. I'm still getting bladdered on it. Does Bulldogs have Hoegaarden?

As usual I will aim to get there at about 7:55 to get the first round in Happy Hour.

They were quite strict about the team numbers this week so we had the maximum of six. Otherwise we would have had to make A and B teams. Also they are enforcing a no-blackberry/mobile/laptop rule which I think is good.

I should apologise to smog who did go off in a bit of a huff yesterday after I got upset at him. We were actually publicly docked a point from our score for use of a mobile phone, smog received a call from Pomette and stood up by our table to take it rather than going outside, and Matthew walked past at the wrong moment. The resulting public announcement when the scores were read out was a little humiliating for me and made my final trip the bathroom after he had left a little like running the gauntlet.
So smog, I think my point was valid, but if I was a bit overbearing about it then I apologise.
But I do think we need to agree that if we get a call we run outside, especially in between rounds when Matthew might step away from the microphone....
I just want our position to be whiter than white and unassailable.

I was again away - but this time Macau. Nice tarts and I lost HK$110 gambling. Made it up in volume though. Of lager.

Really? Last time I was there I was drinking my Vodka tonic while playing Blackjack!

so does it mean you can cheat just by walking outside or while people are having a smoking break?

Yes it does, unfortunately, but I guess they can't prevent that.
Most importantly, all the teams seem to enjoy the quiz, and that's why they're there... it's not all about winning at any expense.

flyingchair,
I appreciate the apology. Thanks. I was only really half there last night anyway as you probably noticed so it didn't take much to get me to leave.
And yes I guess I should have taken the phone outside, but my conscience is clear in that the call was incoming had nothing to do with the quiz (except insofar as cancelling Pomette's pre-ordered KDC). My phone had actually been off up til then but I wanted to find out where Pomette was and she just happened to call me within seconds.
Personally I would prefer, as I think all bar one of us would now, to do next week totally unassisted. I think on last night's score we would still certainly have been in the top 3 and quite possibly first (adding several points in the picture round for answering the question as asked, but losing a few others). We're now I think 9 or 10 points ahead in the league so we can afford to experiment!

Halo, Too right mate. I hadn't been to Macau for a year or so and I'm not big on Casinos (can't gamble to save my life frankly; no attention span doesn't help). It has improved a lot but also I was under the impression it was 'Like Vegas' - well having done Vegas and Atlantic City as well as gambling houses in Istanbul and such this wasn't a patch on the experience in terms of: - Obviously it is all very 'Chinese Gambling' - so most of the games are Baccarat and that dice stuff
- Even the penny slots stuff is all in Chinese
- Very few free drinks knocking about - can't drink at the table - mostly just handing out water.
- The food areas seemed to shut early and otherwise it's a special effort to get a meal
- Vegas n such makes even Joe Public Punter fee part of an 'experience' - this is still very much 'Turn Up, smoke fags, lose money - f**k off'
- It is though far better than before
- It needs more shows n such to cater to people who like a bit of a gamble but more of a night out.
- A show that is not 'The Crazy Happy Golden Butt Hole Cheap s**gs on Stage*
* which would be OK but not with the wife n me Old Dears.
Average by Intention.
