When you forgive, you do it not for the other person but for yourself. The act of forgiveness allows you to make peace with the people or situation that has been tormenting you. It comes down to a willingness to get over what you think should have happened and accept the reality of the present moment.

Walk Away from Worthless Fear and Worry!

The only thing valuable about any fearful state is seeing how worthless it really is and then -- along with the false self that loves to scare itself -- just letting it go.

The evidence is overwhelming that Planet Earth is being visited by intelligently controlled extraterrestrial spacecraft. In other words, some UFOs are alien spacecraft. Most are not. It's clear from the Opinion Polls and my own experience, that indeed most people accept the notion that some UFOs are alien spacecraft. The greater the education, the more likely to accept this proposition.

Ekhart Tolle???? I've decided to go into the same line of work as him.....Seems you can make a few bucks by confusing people who are already confused....

quote:
Question:
You often use phrases such as "true alignment with life" and "inner alignment with what is". How can we ever be out of alignment with what is? Surely what is is WHAT IS and must include confusion, resistance and non surrender to the present moment.

Answer:
What you say is the truth. As long as that truth is not recognized, however, there is suffering (which of course is part of what is.) As soon as it is recognized, a new dimension arises: awareness, Presence. This is the awakening, the shift, the transcendence of suffering. So, when I say alignment with life I mean conscious alignment. Non-surrender to the present moment is ultimately only non-recognition that you are already one with what is. This is the illusion of separation (which, of course, also has its rightful place within the totality). So we are all on a journey from unconscious to conscious alignment with life. (Please see also A New Earth, page 163/64 for another perspective on this).

Perhaps it's just too early in the morning for me - - - or maybe I'm in denial about being in denial......Coffee time!

Something from A New Earth that resonates with me. Page 225. I had to type a passage as I don't think Eckhart Tolle does many good one or 2 liners.

When you become aware of the transience of all forms, you attachment to them lessens, and you disidentify from them to some extent. Being detached does not mean that you cannot enjoy the good that the world has to offer. In fact, you enjoy it more. Once you see and accept the transience of all things and the inevitability of change, you can enjoy the pleasures of the world while they last without fear of loss or anxiety abut the future. When you are detached, you gain a higher vantage point from which to view the events in your life instead of being trapped inside them. You become like an astronaut who sees the Earth surrounded by the vastness of space and realizes a paradoxical truth: The earth is precious and at the same time insignificant. The recognition that

This, too, will pass brings detachment and with detachement another dimension comes into your life - inner space.
