Hi..
Im new to this forum but not new to HK. Been here for the last 8-9 months living in Shau Kei Wan which is near the eastern end of the HK Island MTR line. Am aiming to move to "western" end in late November/December.
Am searching for a 2 bedroom flat for 14k or less. Would not mind an older building as long as the inside is relatively new (especially the bathroom cause mine currently sucks!).
Anyhow, I will begin the search later this week but would appreciate any feedback or leads any of you can provide. Definitely let me know if you're interested in sharing a flat in the area I mentioned with this budget or thereabouts. I myself am from Seattle and currently work for a major software company and a non-smoker. Already have furniture as well (Two seater couch, TV, Mini fridge, bed)
Please let me know with any suggestions or questions.
Thanks...Jonathan

You might talk to the property division of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals. They have flats in both Sheung Wan and Kennedy town that would fit in your budget. Sorry I don't have the number handy but it shouldn't be hard to find

Click on the button at top left of page for the English version.
Best bet is to actually head into Kennedy Town/Sheung Wan/wherever and do the rounds of the property agents.

I am going to be in a serviced apt for a few months and then I will be looking to get a place as well. If you don't mind sharing with a chick then maybe we could chat. pm me if you want. Oh and... Welcome. to h*ll

At my lemonade stand I used to give the first glass away free and charge five dollars for the second glass. The refill contained the antidote.

supersonic, you may want to check out The Merton in Kennedy Town. New building, gym, pool etc and when I was looking in KT last year, there were plenty of appts for less than 14K.
Just take a wander into KT and check out the local Estate Agents. Most of them are advertising The Merton. Failing that there are plenty of other places available in KT around your budget!

Not sure how to message someone privately on this. Anyhow, I am also considering the Carribean Coast out at Tung Chung. Much further out and close to the airport. But from what I understand, the MTR commute to central is roughly 25-30 minutes.
Please feel free to contact me at steven.soderbergh@gmail.com
Thanks....

CC (Tung Chung) to Central by MTR is more than 30 mins, allow for double that.
It is almost impossible to exaggerate the complete unimportance of almost everything.

And you have to commute with Uncle Fester lookalikes in Man United shirts. Better to stay in town.
