Hi..
For those on this forum who have knowledge of, or perhaps are already living out in the above listed areas, what is the approximate commute time by MTR to Central?
How about by Ferry service? And how late does this Ferry service run, going back to CC from Central?
Many thanks...

CC to Central (varies by hour of day): 10-20 minutes by shuttle bus to MTR station 36 minutes minimum on the MTR (according to MTR website, may also include up to 10-minute wait for train) x minutes to walk to preferred exit.
There is a resident bus to Central during rush hours (Mon-Fri). Takes 30-50 minutes depending on traffic. Paperwork to apply is a bit of a pain.
There is no ferry from CC to Central. Whoever told you that was wrong.
Don't know about Park Island but believe it's 25-30 minutes to Central by ferry.
It is almost impossible to exaggerate the complete unimportance of almost everything.

Claire....thanks
Just to clarify, 10-20 minutes shuttle service from apartment complex to the Tung Chung MTR station...? You know if this is a 24 hour around the clock service (excluding the peak hour resident bus service)?
I mustve thinking of the ferry service from Park Island, not CC.

No, the shuttle bus to the MTR only runs when the MTR runs.
Otherwise it's a walk to Tung Chung (or call a Lantau taxi) and take a night bus - I think some from the airport go through TC.

It is almost impossible to exaggerate the complete unimportance of almost everything.

+ Last CC shuttle bus leaves MTR station at 01:24, I believe
+ Else there is the taxi option, or walk it (about 15 mins or so).
+ There are various bus options as well: (not 100% sure that this is a complete list)
External routes Initial with E represents a route that serves the Airport, Tung Chung, and areas outside Lantau Island.
* E31: Tung Chung (Yat Tung Estate) <> Tsuen Wan * E32: Asia-World Expo <> Kwan Fong (via Airport, Tung Chung) * E33: Airport <> Tuen Mun (via Tung Chung) * E34: Airport <> Tin Shui Wai (via Tung Chung, Yuen Long) * E41: Asia-World Expo <> Tai Po (via Airport, Tung Chung) * E42: Airport <> Sha Tin (Pok Hong) (via Tung Chung, Tai Wai)
Airport shuttle routes S routes serve Tung Chung and areas surrounding the Airport.
* S1 (Circular): Tung Chung MTR Station <> AsiaWorld-Expo (via Airport) * S64 (Circular): Tung Chung (Yat Tung Estate) <> Airport * S64P (Circular): Tung Chung MTR Station <> Airport Maintenance Area
Night Bus Routes N routes serve only after midnight (00:00-05:30).
* N30: Tung Chung/Airport <> Yuen Long * N31: Airport <> Tsuen Wan (via Tung Chung) * N42: Tung Chung/Airport <> Ma On Shan (via Sha Tin) * N42A: Tung Chung/Airport <> Fanling (via Tai Po, Sheung Shui)

seem like a fun bunch - this was posted in the Jokes section:
The smallest baby in the world 02/21/07 at 17:22:22 MIAMI - A premature baby that doctors say spent less time in the womb than any other surviving infant is to be released from a Florida hospital Tuesday. ADVERTISEMENT Amillia Sonja Taylor was just 9 1/2 inches long and weighed less than 10 ounces when she was born Oct. 24. She was delivered 21 weeks and six days after conception. Full-term births come after 37 to 40 weeks. "We weren't too optimistic," Dr. William Smalling said Monday. "But she proved us all wrong." Neonatologists who cared for Amillia say she is the first baby known to survive after a gestation period of fewer than 23 weeks. A database run by the University of Iowa's Department of Pediatrics lists seven babies born at 23 weeks between 1994 and 2003. Amillia has experienced respiratory problems, a very mild brain hemorrhage and some digestive problems, but none of the health concerns are expected to pose long-term problems, her doctors said. "We can deal with lungs and things like that but, of course, the brain is the most important," Dr. Paul Fassbach said Monday. "But her prognosis is excellent." Amillia has been in an incubator since birth and has been receiving oxygen. She will continue getting a small amount of oxygen, and her breathing will be monitored once she leaves Baptist Children's Hospital. She now is between 25 and 26 inches long and weighs 4 1/2 pounds. "She's going to be in a normal crib, she's going to have normal feedings, she's taking all her feedings from a bottle," Smalling said. Amillia is the first child for Eddie and Sonja Taylor of Homestead. She was conceived by in vitro fertilization, which made it possible to pinpoint her exact time in the womb, and was delivered by Caesarean section.

And so was this:
From The TimesFebruary 15, 2007 Extreme diet model dies six months after anorexic sister Tom Hennigan in São Paulo ====================================== A teenage model has been found dead from extreme dieting six months after her sister, also a model, died at a fashion show from complications arising from anorexia. Eliana Ramos, 18, was found dead in her bedroom by her grandmother, with whom she was staying in Montevideo, the Uruguayan capital. She is believed to have suffered a heart attack. A full postmortem examination report has yet to be released but local reports suggested that Ms Ramos, who was taking part in Montevideo fashion week, suffered from “alimentary deficiency”. Her parents, who were on holiday at the time of her death, were said to be devastated. Luisel Ramos, 22, collapsed and died on the catwalk during a fashion show in Montevideo last year. Eliana had just embraced her sister and wished her good luck in what was their first fashion show together. Her father said afterwards that his daughter had been on a regime of lettuce and diet cola in an attempt to lose weight. Her body mass index (BMI) was found to be below the level considered by the World Health Organisation to be starvation.

The CC shuttle service to MTR starts at 545am and finishes @1:23am 7 days per week. The ride takes about 7-8 minutes depending on traffic. The frequency of departures varies from 5-10 minutes during the morning rush hours and 8-15 minutes during regular hours. Their shuttle service also goes to TST and Central. The first bus leaves CC at 7:15. I do not know how long the commute is to either location as I have yet to try either route. The MTR trip from Tung Chung to Hong Kong station usually takes around 40-45 minutes depending on how long you have to wait for the train (since TC is the first station on the line, it you may have to wait as much as 5 minutes to depart after the train arrives to wait on the cleaners to make thier rounds). Fundy's bus list is a great reference. I would also like to add that their is another express bus, E21 or E21A, that stops at the CC (Behind the 7-11 at Phase II) without going by the TC MTR station. This bus can be used to access areas near Mongkok and Prince Edward not far from the Pet and Flower Markets. Hope this is helpful.

I think it's to Tuen Mun.
