if he's taking off from CLK, especially in your case, and if you're at home: definitely NOT
prefer he rams the Aberdeen tunnel instead

Don't want him anywhere near the controls of a flying machine on CLK.
He might pull a quick right dive and reenact the EL-AL Schiphol "Bijlmer" crash in my living room.

The problem with instant gratification is that it takes too bloody long...

Well, it seems someone up there loves me much 'cose I took them to Xining and back to HK from Lhasa. But it was all set up by the agency, no choice. Doesn't meam I'll feel safe next time a take China Airline.

No you didn't - you took Air China, which is completely different from China Airlines (which doesn't fly to mainland China).

To be fair to China Airlines, the problem with their new-generation 737 has now been found to be a generic one and nothing specific to them - they were just unlucky to be the first where it caused a major incident. The FAA (US Federal Aviation Administration) has issued an Emergency Airworthiness Directive requiring all such planes worldwide to be inspected for similar problems within 10 days. Some countries have imposed stricter rules (Japan grounded all theirs until they had been inspected).

I flew China Airlines last week and was impressed. Good in-flight service, clean aircraft, good food, smooth flight and no bad breath.
It did help that the aircraft was brand new, so any doubts about old flying hacks was quickly 'extinguished'
They do have theor fair share of incidents and accidents, but some are just plain unfortunate - this one, as FOTH pointed out is one of them. IMO, the people to blame for this are Boeing - they had seen this bolt loosening happen in 2002 and should have carried out a more detailed risk and scenario assessment.
