paft of the article Professor Lynn Goldman, the main author of the Baltimore study and a former head of toxic substances at the official US Environmental Protection Agency – calls for the chemical to be phased out and "not released to the environment".
And Dr Gwynne Lyons, the director of Chem Trust, a new British charity for protecting people and wildlife from harmful chemicals, says that failing to do so would be "sheer folly".
DuPont, the only US manufacturer of PFOA, has announced plans to phase it out – but not until 2015. The company says it is taking the step merely because of the chemical's persistence and as a result of public concern.
DuPont has long insisted that "there are no human health effects known to be caused by PFOA", and now adds: "Our position is that the studies have not changed our position.

the best still is heavy cast iron well seasoned skillets, but then again who on here knows how to season a cast iron skillet, or better who is willing to pick up a 18 inch cast iron skillet (heavy) to flip his potatoes?

Funny enough I just bought a new cast iron skillet , smallest size I can find, at the weekend. And , yes I do know how to season a cast iron skillet.
We Chinese, season our cast iron Wok too. But Chinese Cast iron woks are far to heavy for me to use. There are another type pan called Titanium pan, I've only seen them from trade show where I am.
I missed it last time, but I always wanted one...they are quite pricey, starting from CND $ 250 and up to around $ 500. But I am prepared to get a mall one, that's enough for me to cook fat-free.

Is this an emergency measure to reduce your weight? Fat free = flavour free.

No. I am never overweight, I just don't like fatty stuff....... heart attack man.
i.e that pan can cook an egg without oil. and make pan cakes, and boil sugar without sticking and over burn.
if you fried a peace of steak, it can brown the steak without using oil, I don't see the connection with taste here.
ok for example , a piece of marinated chicken, it can brown and cook the chicken with all the taste and flavor sealed in.
See see ?

since when does an egg gets cooked with oil? its either boiled or poached in which case one uses water, if its fried you use butter and not oil!
egg without butrter is only half the joy
steak doesnt get fried in oil but butter, its all about taste! that you dont see the connection for taste here tells me a lot about the state of your tongue and nose.
about the chicken, it can only cook and brown it and have the taste inside which is already inside, nothing more then that!
I'd rather die if i'd have to live my life like that, come on lets do another 10 Oz rib eye today!

I had all that you just mentioned, butter, no butter with it ....... and you don't have to tell your grandmother how to suck eggs.
This is my choice now that I like it without freaking butter.......yes ????

I pick my choice after I experience it , it is different from someone i.e. YOU.... who don't know what what is and make a stupid comment.

Yeah I fried eggs with oil and not butter and I do make pasta using the sauce from a jar because I'm a busy mom and if I can afford a chef to cook for me and my family I'll be a lot more picky.
