Basis latest articles I have managed to read over the internet, there several opinions about what is better
LCD, or Plasma TV.

Some say “if you want it to watch TV in you living room then better use the plasma.”
Consider the huge different on price …. What would you say is a better value for money ?

Why do they say watching an LCD in your living room is no good? A few years ago the problem was the LCD's only went up to 20" which was the limiting factor making the bigger plasmas the best choice, but thats not the case now. Go for an LCD. The picture quality is much higher than the Plasmas in general.

If your short of cash going for a plasma is the cheaper option still I think.

reading it it is clear that LCD it somehow "BETTER" but what is the best "VALUE FOR MONEY" in your eyes.

ZG it is not an issue of "short of cash" just trying to fine out best value for money.

thanks

Value for money would be Plasma in so far as it's much cheaper. LCD is better for quality, but plasma is still good.
I spent top dollar on a t.o.t.range LCD and regret the purchase. I could have bought an even bigger plasma for less than half the price and I'd be just as happy with it. Though now that I finally have some genuine HD content being fed to my tele, I'm very happy that I have a full HD TV as it's absolutely awesome with the HD content.
Having said that, I have a unique setup that allows me to have HD content, I'd go with the plasma for normal use.
I'd get a no-name chinese brand, say around $10-12K for a 42 inch screen... there or there abouts.

HD content is not yet available in Hong Kong except through blu-ray or HD DVD. I use a computer setup with a HD drive, as well as HD digtal content stored. All fed via DVI-D (Video) and Optic fibre (Audio).
It's not sophisticated, but not exactly normal either.

The difference between them is basically picture quality, if your just going to be watching normal, non-HD TV, go round the big stores like Fortress etc and look at the plasmas and LCD's side by side, if you feel the pic quality if the plasmas are fine for you then probably the plasma would be more VFM for you.

When buying our plasma some years ago I spent a week going round checking the pictures on many of the different brands. Note that some of them will even switch channel to normal TV for you on request, which is better for judging than the animated stuff they usually have on.

Ah, I see. I was gonna say....I've got Blu-Ray and a computer capable of HD output into my TV/amp.

NOW reckons it has some HD content.

Not yet it doesn't (or so I thought). I know they're asking people to sign on now, for a future date.
I'd want to see the HD standard they're planning to use before I subscribed... also, it's only for a few channels at first. Plus there are a lot caveats to the deal such as the infrastructure in your area and building.

VOOM HD has listings, including "Full Frontal Fashion Miami Swim Shows 2008" but probably not much interest in that...

The broadcast Now signal will be 720p 16:9. It is available in some areas (geographically) with certain select football matches and one channel called Voom.
