I am getting conflicting answers from those in charge of the move over to Hong Kong - The office is near Kowloon - can anyone recommend (or not recommend) an apartment to look into for a 12 month stay?

Kowloon is (in HK terms) a large area. As everyone on here will recommend; come here first, stay in a hotel or service apartment for a few weeks until you find which area is suitable for you in terms of budget, travel to / from work, social life, shopping, schools etc. Because it is different for everyone, in HK yr budget will make a huge difference to what you can afford and what we think is nice you prolly won't.

You used to speak the truth.
But now you're clever.

I agree with LT, moving here from the US many years ago was huge culure shock in terms of how small and expensive apartments can be.

It would be best, as mentioned above, to see the areas for yourself first before committing to a place.

Keep in mind, when a place here is quoted as a certain square footage, that's gross, the actual living area can be 15 - 20% less.

Good Luck
