Hey, what do you guys put on the kitchen wall etc. as emergency instructions, numbers to call in case of fire, what to do when typhoon hits etc. etc. I thought it would be good to educate the maid & myself a bit about these things. Any good printouts on govt webpages etc.?

You want the maid to join you in LKF for the free beers?

If you have children in school, the school usually sends home a list of typhoon and red/black rain instructions. You should have a plan in place to deal with school closure. If no school kids...... you should have directions to the nearest bar that has typhoon specials.

999

Hong Kongers also will go typhoon shopping as some typhoons can linger for a day or so and also fresh veggies are in short supply/more expensive just after a typhoon. Make you have a decent supply of beer in to last for a few days, otherwise you will have to send your maid to the 7-11 to buy more. But the 7-11 could also run out. Then you call 999.

It is almost impossible to exaggerate the complete unimportance of almost everything.
