Service was dead awful the first week. I would wait a month or so, especially if you plan on going during a weekend.

It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than open ones mouth and remove all doubt.

There was a letter in SCMP the other week saying the transport arrangements were a mess with 45/50 minute queues in the heat for the bus, and another 45 minute queue to check in.

Service was appalling and the place was unrelaxing and very noisy.

tempting, but I'll let it go

Never go to anything when it first opens. Give them time to get the staff trained, to sort out the stuff that doesn't work and give the peasei chance to gawp at the decor and go home. I'm thinking of going late October myself. Can't gamble to save my life though so I might just have some of those nice tarts.

As long as you don't make a mess whilst eating them I think you should be OK. Best to ask the gondola driver before you unwrap your tart and dive in though.

Opinions divided on the subject. Everyone else says gondolier; I say driver.

3 sounds more sensible. A reader is complaining in todays SCMP Take Action column that when he went last Saturday check in took two hours, he was unable to use the spa as it was full, no one picked up the phone for room service, and breakfast arrived an hour later than requested.

Went here yesterday and was extremley impressed... the canal with Gondalas was fab the shopping is great with stores that we don't have in HK... Massimo Duttin anyone !!!!

Didn't stay there but will do as next time.. the casino actually has a much more classy feel with great a stage at the end with decent entertainment instead of that w**k at Sands which is basically Russina hookers having a go

All in all highly recommended specially to take the kids in the mall..
