Searching the net for materials, I found this:

<BACK
Thanks to Mary for sending this in!

A CHILD’S TEN REQUEST-MENTS
My hands are small; please don’t expect perfection whenever I draw a picture or throw a ball. My legs are short; please slow down so that I can keep up with you.

My eyes have not seen the world as yours have; please let me explore safely. Don’t restrict me unnecessarily.

Housework will always be there. I’m only little for a short time; please take time to explain things to me about this wonderful world, and do so willingly.

My feelings are tender; please be sensitive to my needs; don’t nag me all day long. Treat me as you would like to be treated.

I am a special gift from God; please treasure me as God intended you to do, holding me accountable for my actions, giving me guidelines to live by, and disciplining me in a loving manner.

I need your encouragement to grow. Please go easy on criticism; remember, you can criticize the things I do without criticizing me.

Please give me the freedom to make decisions concerning myself. Permit me to fail, so that I can learn from my mistakes.

Please don’t do things over for me. Somehow that makes me feel that my efforts don’t quite measure up to your expectations.

Please don’t be afraid to leave for a weekend together. Kids need vacations from parents, just as parents need vacations from kids.

Please take me to Sunday School and church regularly; setting a good example from an early age.

(for the last point, I agree with the setting a good example at an early age. For me, I showed my son that it's alright to hug trees and talk to plants[;^)])

From my son's Montessori parent's guidelines:
Sticks and Stones can break your bones,
but Words can Break your heart

Another good one that I adhere to, both as a parent, a mother and a friend:
Never teach anyone what they can learn by themselves

Thumbs up to The Crone! [:D]

If only people will really take all these into consideration when dealing with kids though, which is important but not many will actually do so. [:(!]

Older boys had their start in Montessori schools and when I read her book, I said, bingo, that is common sense for me.

Very Nice Crone[x2x]> The words put here are so real and touches the heart. As Rachel said all the parents have to understand these matters when dealing with those innocent lovely kids.

BTW I have taught my son how to take care of his small plants, just like Mummy takes of care of him, which he has planted himslef.[8~2] Believe me he is so attached to those little plants. I feel very happy for this[xo]

Speaking of back to school, this morninng I was at the bus stop and saw this father walking his kid to school. Man, the dad was walking in a normal "adult" pace, but that poor kid who is about 2.5 feet was running. I wonder if he knew his feet are 3x longer than his little girl's [:(]

catzeyez> Poor kid...couple of days back I saw a kid beaten by Mom so hard that I could hear the sound of her slap just for asking the chocolate twice or thrice.[V]

I wasn't kissing him,
I was just telling his lips a secret!!!
