Howards dream.....to be the longest serving liberal prime minister and crush the unions whilst tuning oz back into the 1950's style conservative place he remembers so affectionately

The reason we pay such high tax in Aus, is largely due to an over generous social welfare system. To the tune of 36%+ of GDP!

Good training, and costs us bugger all. Troops want to be deployed, that's what they spend their time training for.

OK, let's check that number vs the social security budget shall we? That's where you'll get some savings. 300 mil... is that even an increase in the defence budget? not much if it is. 300 mil is sfa!

sending troops to Iraq was dopey. The search for WMD's was a farce and Australia's government looks foolish for following bush on a wild goose chase. Complete waste of time and money, not mention innocent lives.

I agree about the WMD. But who ever beleived that it was about anything other than oil security? surely nobody here was so gullable?
Puti, I don't qualify for the "baby bonus", and I think it's a f**king joke! Pork barreling plain and simple!

Im the only bastard in the country who actually admitted to like Howard (have done so on many ocasions on this very site), all the other spineless turds bunged on the old "howard hater" persona, while voting for him for 12 years!
