Our wanting to reserve equal powers of reason as some universal heritage of humanity will not be enough to make it so”.

I think there are only two comments that I would like to make about this post.
1. Even though he is a scientist, he is 79, and obviously off his rocker a bit to expect anyone to take him serious other than racist WASPS.
2. There are multiple types of intelligence with various definitions across the multicultural global spectrum. That means that the term "intelligent" is very vague and chock full of cultural biases. If I am not mistaken, isn't it the responsibility of scientists to provide sound, "beyond a shadow of a doubt" evidence for their logic/reasoning behind their theories and hyptheses? What kind of individual expects anyone to take them seriously whilst making such broad and sweeping assumptions, unless they are suffering from alzheimers so severly that they forgot that it's no longer acceptable to make such comments?

If this finding is based on the scientific discovery , I won’t look at it as a racist comment.
It is same as identifying a person with ADHD , it is not meant to be intellectually prejudice.
I can accept the fact that people are born unequal, and so it should be. Without practicing give and take , acceptance, charity and love and the rest….. human race is left without stimulation and growth.
It is all in the brain and it’s chemistry that determine an individual’s abilities and disabilities. The finding has no link with human rights so far, it is just a finding or hypothesis.
Again survival is not all about who has the higher IQ. There are qualities that Blacks have differently from Whites. Again I don’t intend to stereotype , Black people seem more lay back, possibly has something to do with their higher libidos .
I, rather not looking for Equality in people and find Diversity interesting and meaningful. .

There is no general consensus as to what "intelligence" really means.
Maybe James Watson should clarify his notion of intelligence first...or maybe just shut up and do some gardening.
I spent some time in Africa and with Africans students in London. It never occured to me that they might be less intelligent than Europeans. Different, yes, but diversity is something I regard as positive....otherwise i wouldn't be living in HK!
