Excellent. It may be two and a half hours, but it doesn't seem like it.
It's the sort of film that you'll think about for days with its exploration of the power of lust and love.
For the pedants amongst us, it is rather odd though to see an FX4 supposedly in wartime Hong Kong (they were only manufactured from 1958).

The 'blokes b*****ks' shot nearly ruined an otherwise excellent filum. The Mrs went back next day to watch it with her Chinese mates so they could check out the sex scenes discuss the very nature of the relationships between the major characters and the symbolism for the mother country itself but mostly I think the sex scenes.

Tony Leung is in pretty good shape for a bloke his age.
The movie is a bit slow moving, but it is still very engaging. I didn't even realize that it was that long. It was the first time I have had my bags searched before a movie though. They even offered a $3000 reward if you turned in someone else that was recording the film.

I think it was actually $30,000, but only on successful prosecution.

It's lucky for you guys to learn about the film in a more comstructive way with English media
Most of the local media was buzzing the film about the fact that you can see Mr. Leung's left nut!
Some mofos always try to ice skate uphill....

As with Tony's old kungfu films where none of the fighting was done by him, that left nut may as well be played by a stunt.
But really a great film, easily best this year so far.

have to say she is OK, but not all that... cute but not hot
Tony Leung's nads are not something I really want to see again
wouldn't rave about the film myself... was OK but not that memorable
