Indeed, however in the meantime I've certainly made far more money in investments/trading than I have from salary... but it's still all going to end in tears.

Well if I sell about 10 minutes before the crash starts there won't be any tears from me. But it ain't that simple. You might recall that I advocated exiting the Hang Seng at 20,000, and it's just gone through 31,000. If I'd left my money in I'd have made over 50% in less than 6 months.
But having cashed a bit in today, Mrs smog and I did enjoy a few glasses of Pol Roger this evening...
