Regina Ip's campaign slogan is:

"I'll do better than my best"

Just how in god's name is she planning to do that??? Is her current best something understated which shouldn't really be called her best???

Apologies in advance for my poor sentence structure, but a retard is at the keyboard!

Vile woman thinks that'll win over the electorate, think she has forgotten that every fooker in HK apart from 24 party workers wishes she gets dragged over hot coals whilst being flayed with a cat o nine tails

Maybe "I'll do my best" sounded kind of flimsy.

It also sounds like a pre-emptive apology.

She should have said:

I'll do whatever the f**k I like, yis c**ts

that type of brutal honesty would appeal to me

I have a question.... is it all over already ?

Also why are the candidates known as only number .. vote for number 4 etc ??

Is it a simplified process here or something ?

The territory-wide District Council elections were the weekend before last. The Hong Kong Island by-election to Legco (caused by the death of Ma Lik) is this coming Sunday.

The voting cards simply have the number, photo and name of the candidates on them, along with a place for you to use the chop provided to make your "tick". I assume the numbers are to assist people who are illiterate to cast their vote.

One of these is Regina Ip. The other is trying to get elected.

"I'll do better than my best"

Is it not a play on Donald Tsang's slogan for the CEO election. That was such a non event, I cannot remember what it was.

Another picture from back then

Hum I thought literacy was quite good in Hong Kong at +93% (source CIA factbook).

To be fair HK seems to be similar to everywhere else where it seems like the same politicians keep on going for the same positions over and over again (sometimes for decades) however bad they have been before. I think France is an example with politicians seeking (and obtaining) reelection even though they have actually been sent to prison for fraud.

Illiteracy rates in Hong Kong? Amongst the elderly I'm guessing it is high. Have you ever followed an Old Dodder through the electronic immigration desk? They usually get the idea to insert their ID card and once it's spat out they take it and go through to the fingerprint reader but then the fun begins. Most of them think the red light is a button so they start jabbing at it - once they realise they have to hold their thumb over the light the instructions then in English & Chinese is 'Lift Thumb'. The Old Dodders usually just stand there starring - clearly unable to read Chinese or English. Usually you have to shout over an Immigration Officer to show them what to do. And I'm serious - this has happened to me on over 10 occaisions s now I don't go to a cue with an Old Dodder in.

Regina Ip doesn't care if you don't like her logo - you are just a bunch of stupid taxi drivers anyway.

Spot on that is LT, is enough to make you spit isn't it? However, I've also witnessed younger folks who do the same thing but with the added WTF factor of trying to scan each finger on each hand to open the magic gate.

Judging by their attitude towards their education, not surprise they can't read either of the language.
