if it weren't for stupid censorship I woldn't have had the joy of seeing/hearing "yipee-ki-ay motherf**ker" overdubbed as "yipee-ki-ay kemosabe" while watching Die Hard on ITV

quote: Originally posted by Dirty Boots As the work Christmas party on Friday at California, the DJ played Fergie's London Bridge (more than once!): "I’m such a lady, but I’m dancing like a ho, ‘Cause you know I don’t give a fook, so here we go!"
'Ho' was censored, but 'fook' was not. And apparently it is perfectly ok to dance like a ho at work parties, with your bosses!!! (My eyes!)
Well, 'Ho' is one of the most common family names in Hong Kong. It would be pretty difficult to censor it.

quote: Originally posted by Load Toad A lot of the censoring in Singers was to avoid moral outrage, to promote harmony and avoid the various races / religions having some self righteous indignation leading to unrest.
And right on cue, here's a BBC survey on different Nations' perceptions of the importance of press freedom.
