right...off to London for two weeks starting January, am a "london-virgin" so i've no idea what's fun to do on those days and so far all i've been hearing is that the weather around that time is hideous...
does this mean- forget the london eye as i'd probably see nothing due to fog? does this mean- no partying at night lest i wanna end-up like a popscicle? does this mean- i should hop over to Paris since the weather would probably be better?

Fog isn't that common in January. Rain is. But in two weeks you should get a few days clear enough to make the London Eye worth a trip.
Partying is fine, if binge-drinking and passing out or beating the place up is your thing. Almost all bars have bouncers there for a reason.
The weather isn't much different in Paris, but the bars are better. (But they speak French - do you?)

shjah, whatever made you assume that I binge-drink?
I know how to say "Sorry, I don't speak French" in French pretty well...

And take loads of dosh ag. Now that the Eurostar runs from St Pancras, it's now only a couple of hours to gay Paree so it would be rude not to go while you have the chance. As smogo says, weather will be the same anyhow ie. enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey!!
What the f*ck have you done lately?

Go to Greenwich while you are there, in fact why not take the Thames River Cruise after the London Eye, just walk across the bridge towards Big Ben and take a right at Boadicea
Greenwich market really nice and the park is very lovely for a Winter's walk in the afternoon
Get off at Southwark Pier on the way back and spend a couple of hours in the Tate Modern, then walk along the river towards Waterloo, and head straight to Cubana in the cut for some very nice drinks and music
yeah, yeah, yeah

What I don't get is why someone would fly all the way to london, ignore the rest of the country and then go to Spain or france. Why not fly to Spain or France to start with. The Uk has some of the most amazing places you will find anywhere, regional food, accents, different countryside with loads of culture. You could even go to Scotland or Wales. ( ok, maybe not Wales)

I love the UK this time of year.. the Christmasy feel... and then I wanna leave after about 10 days max
I could do a walk about now tho through Roundhay park round the lake with loads of layers on a hat scarf & gloves arm in arm with Span.. skimming stones on the lake and then off for a hearty slap up at the Roundhay Fox
Ahhhhhhh
