SB - these seem like fairly typical images from my in-laws home...Do you, by chance, know them?

...and the time before that, i was 'ill', and had to stay in bed one weekend watching TV and resting. ( one weekend of 3, but still, it was worth it)

EB - this MO has already been implemented.....Sudden increase in workload. Lots of customers in town from Northern China which requires me to drink for face - lots of customers from Europe that require me to drink - just because they do.

Although I'm pretty sure it's enbalming fluid in my mother-in-law's veins.

If I treat my sons wife the same as my husbands mother treats me, I will hold the gun steady whilst she shoots at me. Miserable old cow.

- i reckon it's a free for all - this is why I generally make 'family reunions' a surname based thing only - and for the duration of that painful time, either me or the missus does the best we can (by being either sick, too busy, or summat - as you suggest).......

You should have married me instead. I treat my mum-in-lawa very nicely and my mum is nicer to her son-in-law than to me sometimes.

Sounds like a very rare and special case! Ever thought why it worked out so well? My Mum's always nice to my wife - but that's coz my wife took me off her hands!

Don't know, we respect and appreciate each other? Would be even nicer if we could communicate better - neither my mum nor mum-in-law speaks good enough English...

Get a another house guest?

You used to speak the truth.
But now you're clever.
