Dear Future Employer,

I am a Filipina and currently here in the Philippines. I am looking for a nanny/caregiver/domestic helper job in HOngkong. Taking care of a child, newborn or elderly is not a new experience to me. But I am much exposed in taking care of children and toddlers. When I was a student then, I was engage in various activities with children. One of the requirements of my education degree was to be a volunteer in a day care center. We taught the children how to sing, dance, draw and different activities to develop their mental and skill abilities. We assist them also in playing and how to develop their self-confidence when dealing with other people. After graduation, I took up the Licensure Examination for Teachers and passed it. I was hired in a public school to teach at High School Level, wherein I was assigned to teach Home Economics subjects for first year high school students. While I am teaching, I took up the Professional Caregiving Training Course during weekends. The short course lasted for around nine (9) months including the on-the-job training at hospital, and orphanage. My training institution for my caregiver course was accredited by TESDA (Technical Education and Skills and Development Authority) here in the Philippines. Part of the training course was to undergo training at a hospital, wherein I am assigned at pediatrician ward where all the patients are children, babies and toddlers. From there, I was assigned to take the vital signs (temperature, pulse rate, heart rate and blood pressure) of the patients. After my training at hospital, I am assigned also at Hospicio de San Jose (one of the longest running orphanage here in my country financed by non-government institutions) wherein I was assigned for a long duration at babies and toddlers ward. I experienced handling children with down syndrome, deaf and mute and children with physical defects. When I was assigned at babies, I experienced taking care of three (3) babies at a time, so I used to feed, bathe and play with them altogether. Aside from the theoretical and practical knowledge I have gained from my caregiver training, I have the desire and love to care for children. Eventhough I am still single, I have a nephew and niece that when I was still studying I am the one who took care of them when my sister (their mother) goes to work. Because of the culture of close family ties here in our country, when I was still a student I have to share an apartment with them. So when I have no classes at school I am the one who took care of my niece and nephew. After I had finished my two-year contract at public school, I am working now in a government agency and be able to enroll in a government school to take up SPED (Special Education Course) but due to financial constraints I wasn’t able to finish my course. I hope you will consider to be employed in your family eventhough I am currently here in the Philippines. Should you have any questions / queries regarding my educational and personal qualifications, please pm or email me at tedifink@yahoo.com.ph
