Sorry, not a review but a request for one if anyone has been since it opened a week or so ago...

http://www.zingaro.hk

Mrs smog has expressed an interest but I wondered if it is a bit kid-focussed. Anyone been?

Haven't a clue but the wife was on about taking the kids so I assumed it was a kids show too.

Thanks - could you ask her to give us a review on Monday?

Went last night, arived at 5.30 for the 6.00 performance looking forward to a quick drink beforehand. No bar, just a stall, with long queue, selling mini hotdogs, hamburgers and soft drinks.

Joined a long queue for entry into the arena, but the doors were not opened till around 5.50 and then had to join another queue outside the tent. Finally doors open after 6pm when show is due to start and enter a dark environment with very steep steps, no handrails/lighting/ushers, down to the seats.

One poor elderly lady fell headfirst down the stairs, and thank god was only shaken up and bruised. It could have been a lot worse.

Show starts 25 minutes late. Horses are beautiful, and the riders extremely talented. However there really is a limit on what can be done in a small arena and the show, nothing like a Cirque dSoleil, really is just a procession of horses galloping around the arena with the riders jumping on and off and standing on their backs.

After 45 minutes we felt we had seen enough and the show was getting repetitive. It finished after 80 minutes.

Be aware that if you book the expensive seats in the front two or three rows you will get covered in mud thrown up by the hooves, you are that close to the action.

Will be interested to hear what others thought.

Reminds me, anybody seen the circus in Changlong, Panyu? I found it pretty impressive, also the zoo is amazingly well kept esp. being in Dirtland.

I just got back from seeing it, well worth going but absolutely whatever you do don't get a front row seat... we got covered in grit and dirt and were actually quite scared of the horses being far too close... I would go about 5 rowns back on say E onwards to get a good seat and be just near enough to the action. I believe it's actually quite dangerous the way the seating is set up as we got flying grit in our eyes and other places

The show is excellent and the riders are talented but it's limited to a few same routines... I would say worth a go tho

Went to see last Sat. Kids enjoyed it very much and we didn't get much dirt sitting on 4th row but yet close enough to see details. We also got a bit of pasta as souvenir.
