Perhaps I'm getting old but if I am flying anywhere I want my a$$ in a comfortable seat, safe in the knowledge that I'm going to get there in one piece. $99 to KL - fugetaboutit!!

I'm not aware of any doubts whatsoever about Air Asia's safety - they seem to be as good as anyone. The same cannot be said for Orient Thai, Phuket Air, Adam Air and some others. There are very definitely two classes of LCC as far as safety goes.

Air Asia as far as I am aware ha no safety issues at all. They are also beginning long haul routes as well soon.
