Some time back, I was enamoured by the above by the way he spoke out and debated and so I wrote him an email of appreciation. Since then, I've been getting promotional emails from his office. Here is one that may or may not interest you.

An urgent message from George Galloway MP

Dear friend,

I want to personally inform you that I am standing for election to
the London Assembly on 1st May 2008 and to ask for your help.

The assembly is meant to be London's government but virtually no-one
has ever heard of any body in it. I want to change that.

Having shaken up the US Senate, with your help, I can do the same in
City Hall.

How can you help?

1) My election campaign urgently needs funds. Please, donate as much
as you can to the George Galloway Election Fund.

Please make cheques payable to "George Galloway Election Fund" with
your name and address on the back, so we can send you a receipt, and
send it to: George Galloway Election Fund, PO Box 1109, London, N4
2UU.

If it's easier, you can transfer funds to the following:

Account Name: George Galloway Election Fund

Account Number: 00 86 45 38

Sort Code: 30 90 47

2) I need your help in the campaign. If you can help us leaflet,
canvass, come aboard our battle bus, raise our profile online, help
in the office or organise a group for us to speak to, then please
contact us on 0871 234 1696 or 07507 600 561 or just reply to this
email.

3) Please give me your vote on 1st May. Vote Respect (George
Galloway) to shake up the London Assembly.

4) Please tell your friends I'm standing. Forward this email as
widely as you can!

I hope to see you on the campaign trail.

We'll have an energetic and fun campaign. I hope you can be a part of
it. In any case, I'll keep you up to date with regular email
bulletins.

Best Wishes,

George Galloway MP

You can listen to George Galloway's phone-in show every saturday and sunday morning (our time) live on talksport.net. He's a bit too much of a marxist for my liking but clearly a very intelligent man.

George can be a bit off the wall and has been accused of some dastardly things - usually by 'interests' later proven to have their own mucky agendas and I don't think much has been proven against George. His speaking is eloquent and often little short of brilliant.

You used to speak the truth.
But now you're clever.

he couldn't resist the "ch**k in the armour' gag when the MOD got hacked, then backtracked furiously when called on it

lets not forget one thing, he is a politician and they all reek of self-interest

but "the cat" was genius

Maybe that chap in Nigeria/ Ghana who came into the multi-million dollar inheritance can help him out.
