Somewhere between 6 months and never, depending on exactly how efficient the old and new ones are...

Yeah - but it's complicated.

Plus the cost of the new aircon + installation fee + the cost to the world because they had to make you another f**king aircon and now you want to dump the old one as land fill.

40 days and 40 nights. But only if you wear magic knickers and put a sprig of parsley under your pillow.

It adds to the positive bilateral air filtration syntax.

If your current air con capacity is 5630, and say you buy the new Mitsubishi energy efficient 7000 capacity model MHU-5678. at current HK electric rates, you should recover your money in 895 days give or a take a few days if you have the aircon on for say 8 months of the year for 12 hours a day.

Actually, it only takes one drink to get me loaded. Trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or fourteenth.

What if two men dig the same hole but for 6 hours a day at 5 shillings and 6d?

Factor in the running cost of your current one too. Use a years worth of running time and see how many joules of energy your current one uses and take away the amount of energy your new one would use. Convert that into $$ using the unit rate on your lecky bill. This gives you the amount of direct saving per year side by side.

Using this amount, see how many times you need to mulitply it by to cover the cost of your new unit + installation fee and this will give you the number of years outright which you'll need to pay the new unit off, based on savings alone.

KT - here's a spreadsheet you can download to calculate your aircon bits and bobs to with ease.....

http://www.energystar.gov/ia/business/bulk_purchasing/bpsavings_calc/Calc_CAC.xls

Just chuck in the required info and away ya go.

to be, or not to be, what was the question?

Tomato, you should call Mango. He is professional. He can help you install the air-con!
