Chinese certainly have their hands full with all these perceived threats, muslim terrorists, Tibet, Taiwan.

I'll bet there are a few gov officials saying what the f**k have wew gotten ourselves into about now.

The above comments are personal and meant for comedic purposes only and in no way reflect the thoughts, ideas or other general lunacy of HKExpats Limited.

Now we know how the septics feel....Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Cuba, North Korea, Russia, China.....

They even dream up the term "Axis of Evil".

Do they even exist?

No details, pictures etc.

The Chinese authorities have to worry about grave dangers to the Olympics such as 34-year-old Hu Jia. This man wrote some opinion pieces and put them on the internet, and so he has been sentenced to three years in jail for endangering the state.

If your grip on power is so fragile that one man's words can bring it down, then yes, you are probably right to be paranoid.

I say abolish the Olympics. It has become a political and commercial event which only serves to legitimize bodies like the Chinese government.

Or just have one guy from each country jump in a big stadium and beat each other to death. Last man standing has eternal glory and blowjobs.

It was to my great surprise last night to discover on "Idol Gives Back" (see, reality TV can can educational) that Gordon Brown is now the PM of the UK. When did that happen?

I'd pay to watch Kim Jong-Il jello-wrestling Dubya.

Old fish mouth became PM in June last year without anyone voting for him.

More disturbing- Gordy giving away 20 million to the USA 'event', yet apparently no such magnanamous offerings to our very own UK issues.

No, he said the UK would cover the cost of buying 20 million mozzie nets for poor families in Africa dying from malaria. At a guess, actual cost of nets would be, what, tops HK$1 each? So, call it HK$20 mill total. Which comes to about 1.3 million squid in real money.

The nets were USD 10 each.
OK, so he promises 200 million USD to a country that is not the UK..... 200 million US dollars. That could seriously help some of the people who actually live in the country where the money was generated.
I don't recall any such gesture toward live earth, live aid, blah blah.

Erm. Where did you get US$200 mill from?

*edit*

Okay, just saw your edit. Ryan's blurby said a donation of UD$10 would provide a mozzie net to one family. That's not cost, tho.
