Are we already in typhoon season? Sounds early to me... (mind you I meant "you" as it's around 6C out here at the mo. I suspect it'll go up to 11C by summer)

up to not much

As you sit comfortably inside a solid building in the center of town deep in the arse end of the kitchen; get on a little boat and go play out on the sea brave boy.

It would take quite a storm to move that fat ass of yours.

It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than open ones mouth and remove all doubt.

erh i am not a sailor, and back in euroland there are far worse storms which sailors have to deal with also. o'course i dont like to see any one get hurt/go missing etc, but honestly most HK typhons i have seen in my past 12 years are not much compared to back home

I do tend to agree with you on this KT - I grew up on the south coast of England where gale force winds (a T8 which would cause everything to shut down here) would be a very regular occurrence through the winter months.

Didn't get too many land slips there though or shack houses made of corrugated tin and sellotape.

Coming from the top end of oz and lived through category 3, 4 and 5 cyclones I am impressed by Hong kongs preparedness for what in effect are generally large storms............
