They're on the news daily. Right now they're on Larry King. I am totally divided on how to think about this. They seem so sad. Yet, they seem like robots, something out of Stepford Wives. Yet, they are sad and no one seems to be talking to them. Amazing!
Amazing that a bunch of people in a Western society are so unaware of their rights, of what's going on in the rest of the world. Women who rather be beaten than free.

People who are subjugated are gradually taught that they deserve it. Although it isn't true, the reality of their experience often supersedes anything that people outside their reality tell them.

I'm struggling to understand though why the US doesn't bring in all those women residing there who wear burqas. The argument seems to me to be that if you've been brought up believing it (being polygamy, burqas, or whatever religious belief) to be the way the world is then you have somehow had your rights abused if it isn't in accord with some sort of "universal set of rights".

Doesn't it then follow quite clearly that religion should be an activity for consenting adults only?

i still think that religion is bad, why was i roman catholic as said in my passport........i find its absurd........teach and educate and then leave choice thats the only right way, but allllllllllllll religions choose to use the pushy method, hence to me its all worthless crap

Religions exist outside the law until the number of followers is so small it can be described as something else such as 'cult'. Until the number of believers is small enough to be only a cult then there is a problem - how could you outlaw the practices of a religion that encourages underage sex, burqas and subjugation of all rights to some self appointed prophet or god but not outlaw the major religions? Clearly impossible without the collapse of western civilization and mind control as we know it.

Irony and sarcasm and bitterness settings are set to high as I write....

You used to speak the truth.
But now you're clever.
