to be, or not to be, what was the question?

Haven't been for years and the story of being chased from the Apocalypse Now bar by whores, beggars, cyclocabs, mamasans, blokes with knives and a man with no legs chasing us by running on his knuckles requires a different venue than this message board.

However - it was f**king awesome & I hope it still is.

You remember the cow roof. I do not Mexico. He is goblin.

I think it's a bit more tame these days. Apocalypse Now was rather dull when I went a coupla years back. There were a lot of bars with aggressive hostesses though.

Watchu talkin' about Willis?

Sounds great - aggressive hostesses -

The Caravelle is a nice hotel to stay in - if not staying there at least go to the bar - great balcony, ideal for photos of the wonderful sunsets

Since it was TCAG who reported this and he is none of those three you appear to be letting your bigotry out for a run again.

Paps - I guess that's one way of looking at it tho personally, I've not got all of these fine attributes covered yet...I this naturally occurs within the next 2 yrs tho!

AKA - this sounds pleasant. Won't be staying there, but an evening on the balcony for a couple of brewskies and a few photo's sounds relaxing - and won't incur the wrath of Mrs. hkJay...as long as I take a photo of the person taking a photo of me (all must be well documented)....

Haven't been back since i've (sort of) grown out of the backpackers scene (last year), but the Pham Ngu Lao area is booming and there are lots of bars and restos there for a chilled night.

Get some of those lighters which project pornographic images. They're most excellent.

a conference, what a lame excuse is that

edit: ah, for the omni saigon hotel, my advice would be:
first hit the casino, spend 10$ in 1h meanwhile get absolutely trollied on free beers, forget the koreans. Next, within the hotel is a mulligan's irish pub (where the first time I came in they were playing Marco Borsato, FFS). Chat the night away.
By 11pm every night, the JAL crew comes in for their layover. Pub shuts at 12 - Casino is 24/7

In the right weather, the pool upstairs is also very relaxing

It's hard hitting and across two legs. No, it's not Craig Bellamy's golf club, it's the champions league semi-finals

DBI - most excellent - I'll be looking for the lighters, for sure!

Geraldo - no better than any of your excuses, mate. But I suppose you long ago ran out of viable reasons excuses.

I go on business. [/reasons, excuses ]

BTW: the best possible French restaurant in Asia is in HCMC, authentic top to bottom, and nearly for free

I think Saigon is a fantastic place, lots to see, do, photograph, admire, eat and drink. It's not seedy Paps.

"MORE EFFICIENT COST REDUCTION STRATEGY WITH TINTING TECHNOLOGY" ooooooh - niiiiice!
