Urgent - have just been informed by the wife (who is out of town) that my nephew & girlfriend are turning up next week and staying for 5 days !
f**k that for a laugh - so need to find a cheap and cheerful hotel to stick them up in.
Any suggestions please - ideally island side.

How cheap ?
Island pacfic hotel in Say ying pun is not too expensive nor too bad
Or queen's hotel in sheung wan, cheaper but no breakfast

would 1500 for tonight do? rest of the week can do the ramada in western for about 800

The Island Pacific is not cheap at all. It should be, but I think they put package tours there and tell them it's Central.
Try somewhere like the JJ Hotel in Wanchai, about 800 a night.

er - Hong Kong Show, Canton Fare - just a couple of minor ones like....don't tell me you haven't seen the big, loud yanks hogging the cabs whilst Brit businesses men in poor quality & ill-fitting suits sweat by the side of the road? Or the Italians carefully coordinating turquoise trousers with brown loafers - or Arabs with more suitcase space than P&O?

I'm paying. Just booked the Island Pacific for 8 nightgs @ 7k which is not too bad i guess. Better than spending 8 nights (inc a bank holiday + euro SF 2nd leg) on a blow up bed.

I don't think "knobbing nephew's girlfriend" on the marital bed bodes well for the missus or the nephew. Though I'm sure the thought had crossed Bloke's mind once or thrice.
