Only you have felt the need to descend to personal abuse and libel, without adding anything to the debate either.

OK, I am jumping in - and you people seem to have gotten a bit unnecessarily agitated over this.
1) The girl in Toady's pic isn't 12, I am fairly certain that she's more like 13 or 14. 2) Pics #2 and #3 presented by Smog? There ain't no thin' wrong with either one.
I have a teenage daughter who went through the stages of needing different underwear. Some of you guys might feel uncomfortable about this but yes, little girls do grow into young women and they need various undies to accommodate their changing body. The first pic showcases a training training bra and the rest of the two are simply ads for bathing suits.
Sexualization? Perhaps, note the cleavage of the first girl, courtesy of the padded bra. But bear in mind, it's most young girls' wish to have that.
What I think you guys have lost sight on is this: the target audience are girls between 5 and 13, not some middle-age men. These photos/ads are intended for those girls, not you posters here. How you react to them, I believe, says more about your sensibility than about the ads.

This to me has nothing to to with an age of consent or drinking in pubs, or children growing up. This is the depiction of (a) child(ren) in a way I find wrong. I'm amazed that a company such as Disney didn't wonder if pictures such as this were appropriate. They aren't. This isn't a case of - 'Well it's the human body innit in all it's beauty? What could be wrong with that?' It's f**king weird. We should have gone past the age or culture of presenting kids as adults and though kids go swimming in bathing suits and play happily & innocently with other kids etc there are other ways of selling merchandise (Don't get me started on factory conditions) without displaying children is questionable ways.
I'm reminded of:
'Where they offer you a feature On stockings and suspenders Next to a call for stiffer penalties for sex offenders' It Says Here - Billy Bragg
The ad isn't targeted at 13 years olds (does it matter if it's 11 or 14 anyway?). Because children that age don't earn money. It's targeted at parents...adults.

Some people might be rather p**sed off with your pic of a baby smoking fags.
It's just not funny.

Which is clearly a humorous caricature (originally suggested to me by another msg board alias that I find quite apt - I could waffle on about the innocence of a baby and the weary look on it's face and it's choice of a 'death instinct' drug as it's emotional crutch - but that would of course be mere waffle). And indeed they may be p**sed off - but then I'd expect them to be then p**sed off with a cartoon mouse or such then which would be taking offense to an extreme position and an unreasonable one.

But..but...but..the kid got to chose what she wants....and the kid wants to look up to the other kids who appear to be attractive and all. Being teenage one of the most desirable thing would be wanting to looked mature before age....
that's the whole point for those Ad. Pictures , to initiate styles in their product. ( Disney has no exception. )
When do men come into this topic to degrade the standard of fashion with a dirty look ? And because of that..........all the growing little girls got deprived from their fantazies ?
It is not what you men want or not want, let the teenage girls have their say .

Well, I am afraid you don't know how it works between parents and children. Children are the target audience: the merchants create demands among children, who in turn go to their parents to get what they want. You don't think for a sec parents trawl ads to decide what to get for their kids? Check any consumer reports if you like, there's been complaints against adverstisers targeting children for years. Well, I am a parent and I don't see anything wrong with those pics. One can always choose to read loads into anything and conclude with an elaborate interpretation but it doesn't make him right.

I would be astounded if this sort of bra & pants pics were found as in store point of sale in say Asda, BHS, H&M or Tesco.
It just wouldn't happen

The targeting of children is to indirectly target parents - the fact that that is wrong itself isn't the issue with this thread.
And yes - the smoking baby is smoking a fag - it's clear on the full size version.

Been highly entertained by reading posts on various topics, but for this one I had to sign up to speak.
The Disney billboard is wrong for the suggestive pose. Catalogue photos of girls standing, no big deal. But to recline on a fuzzy blanket with make up on?!? WRONG!!!! A 5yr old will tell you "she looks sexy" and not even know what sexy means. And if you think it is normal than I suppose the billboard next to WanChai Sports ground is an ad of female baseball umpire.

To ask a 5 year old to post SEXY could be similar to asking a dog to play dead. Some adults also don't know what SEXY means, or seeing differently from their piers . Same as love, filiality, patriotism , humanity..........not everyone share the same expectation.
What's WRONG for me would be : to kill freedom of THINKING.
Most of the time an Advertisement is not realistic anyway, that's why it should be catching............. I understand a few male member who contributed these posts were being protective towards the under age innocents. I totally see their point.
That said, I must admit, smog and Mrs smog got brilliant eye sight to spot the camel toe .

I agree with CA2MA--it's the fact that the girl on the billboard is reclining that bothers me. She's placed in a typical playboy style position and in a submissive pose. It's disturbing to me because she appears happy and child like and this is in direct contrast to the sexuality and submissiveness of her pose. This is naggingly subversive.
The shot of Ms. Cyrus, on the other hand, is somewhat disturbing to me because she bears a terrible likeness to Heath Ledger's character of the joker (according to the trailer) and strikes me as quite depraved.
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone, Silence the pianos and with muffled drum Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

I really don't see this. Why is the fact that she is reclining inherently sexual? Or submissive for that matter. The shot of Ms Cyrus:

is a different matter. That to me is clearly sexual (does anyone disagree?), I think you could argue that it's submissive, and she's 15. Since many here seem to believe that there is a hard line at 16 (or is it 18?) at which women can appear sexual surely this is at least as wrong as the Disney image, about which there seems to be a fairly even split between those believing it to be sexual and those not.

Indeed TL - I really don't see how the Disney pose is submissive.

i just scoured through this thread first time and i am amused........a product is being sold, a girl does wear underwear, and girls do all kind of things , they lay down (a possible position for sexual thoughts) they do summersaults (who doesnt look at girls in the olympics?) a girl dartles around in a swimsuit.........
in case you wanna sell underwear you gotta make it pop just as with everything else.
the only ones who are wrong are the ones who see tis as sexual and abuse it by jacking off, or what the fook ever else.
if anyone tells me that a underage girl with mickey mouse on its underwear is submissively erotically enticing........then i just have to laugh.
i am in the SMOG camp here, however i do feel for others opposing reactions, but puhlease tone it down, its a bloody advertising and nothing ius suggestive on or in it (i think) and that was a tongue in cheek joke
