South West France......unlike Italy, you get a lot of 'bang for your buck' in France, some great properties at good values !

if you have been in the place a number of years then the landlord will possibly get the pre school painters in anyway to paint the place so they can extort high over the top rents from the next sod
back in oz the landlords have to set up a bank account for the deposit to be held in and this cannot be touched until the money is taken back out to be returned to the tennants
darren rudd is and never was a sinophile but the reports were a smoggy mistake

In the UK if you have a property managment company they hold the deposit in their bank.. you don't even get access to it
For my place here it's held in a time deposit for when my tennant moves out

I put down a deposit on renting a flat and just now the estate agent rings up and says that the owner may sell now as someone has offered a big amount .....3 days ago the story was the owner wont sell as they want to hold onto the place for good........something to expect in the market today

Here we go again - SCMP today: SHKP has sold a top-floor unit in the Arch at Kowloon Station for a record HK$226M an Asian record of HK$41,400 per sq/ft. The 5,498 sq/ft unit, complete with a swimming pool had gone to an overseas buyer. Certainly is some serious money going into HK property - that's almost GBP15.0M quid, which would equally get you a rather nice drum in UK.
Whatever...

But but but... I would not get a chance to show my greyish tint granny pants off at the Harbour w**ko either, as I would be locked away on the top floor in my marble palace with a private pool
