Sure, why not?

As far as I know, all those places already have regional autonomy, which is what the Dalai Lama wants.

Can you imagine how ridiculous it would be if the Welsh flag was banned in the UK? That is the situation with the Tibetan flag in Tibet.

It's a fair point - we are living at a time when international boundaries and nationhood is unnecessary. It's going to be rather interesting and chaotic. When more people realise being proud of a nation or being part of one is absurd they'll be in the painful position of having to work out what values they have, where they fit and what they want to live for.

It's f**king scary getting thrown out of the Garden of Eden.

But I'm not Welsh.

And anyway, what about North Waleans vs South Waleans? There'a massive rift between the two.

LT, I go beyond what you are saying. The world is made up of PEOPLE. Human Rights is a right of every person. The US, UK, Australia, Japan, Germany etc should justify their 'illegal' borders. This is the biggest crime against humanity.

Every nation that has a wealth of materialism beyond their needs should be heavily globally taxed to redistribute their wealth to less lucky individuals who just so happen to be born on the wrong side of a border. Or the borders should be removed for everyone to freely get gainful employment at market price in any nation. Then I can agree with you on the needlessness for nations.....

In the meantime, I think I will just keep praying for my current HK borders to remain policed and at least have one Tsang administration in my backyard that uses any deceiptful political means of best protecting their fellow citizens from the scary outside world. (Same I guess for a UK or US citizen or Australian citizen).

You aren't going beyond what I'm saying - you are agreeing with what I'm saying. You can actually do that in a debate; agree with something without having to agree with everything.

Smog, I would rather not side track your thread.

So Juno, Puyi, anyone, what goes there with Hawaii vs. Tibet? Or any other border?

Answered already. Give the people what they want. Sorry if that's a bit too radical for you.

Point is, Hawaiians and the N. Irish don't want independance from their ruling countries. Tibetans do.

HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO SAY THIS?

TIBETANS WANT AUTONOMY,

NOT INDEPENDENCE

At the end of the day you get your name on a stamp and the chance to get a bit of corruption at the UN.

didn't notice much political struggle and demonstration last time I was in Hawaii. Just a bunch of fat people in hawaiian shirts eating burgers.

Sabrina, don't just stare at it. Eat it.

Many of whom would be the Hawaiian equivalent of the Han Chinese in Tibet (i.e. the recently imported Americans of European descent).
