Earthquake in Sichuan, felt by some in Yuen Long! Wow!

The earth energies are very powerful, last night I couldn't get to sleep at all (a small mosquito humming in my ears didnt' help),
today, I've been sleeping, napping all day!

Thanks LT, good to know

Even my cats were very quiet today and didn't demand that I get up and feed them like they normally do.

Not very far away from where I am now - they evacuated the building, but I didnt leave because I felt nowt and heard nowt. also, I am like McGyver in my resourcefulness and unflappability so thought I'd be alright

I was in the 'Ppines once, Cebu it was and I was sitting on the toilet in the hotel room when there was a bit of a quake. The irony of the situation wasn't lost on me and the prospect of being found dead with my arse wedged in an American Standards finest bog underneath 10 floors of hotel caused some consternation as I thought of the effect of that news being communicated to me dear mum....'Can you identify your sons arse Mrs LT...?'

The other time I was in Indonesia and 16 floors up in a hotel - not knowing if it was safer to run down the stairs (in that heat?) or if one should risk the lift I also didn't want to be seen to be an Englishman in a state of panic - so I sat on the bed and smoked a cigarette. With the doors of the cupboards opening and stuff falling over and that weird feeling of the room moving backwards and forwards I did wonder if panic wasn't the better part of valor. I didn't cry though.

With earthquakes being quite common the locals weren't remotely bothered - good job I didn't panic and lose face or anything else serious....

I was in San Francisco for the last "big one" in 89, and so now I always get a bit stressed when I feel the smallest tremor like today...
What a horrible newsweek indeed;

My drive to Lok Ma Chau was fine (circa 2pm)

I was sounded asleep when the tremours hit around 12pm (My snores might neutralized it)

I felt nowt, just as I felt nowt when the Taiwan quake hit last year.

I was in a 7.1 a few years back in the Peens, complete with mini-tsunami, and it was extremely scary. This one, in fact...

We had some guys in our office on the 63rd floor and they said that the whole building was swaying.

They phoned me up to ask what to do, I just said "Get Out Now"
