Tell him that you think it's a load of nonsense, but if he really wants it he should save his pocket money and buy it himself.

I don't think it's appropriate reading for anyone, tbh.
The real "secret" is writing bullcrap like "The Secret Behind The Secret" and then convincing people to pay US$37 for it. Just because the bloke was once a quantum physicist doesn't mean he isn't full of s**t.

I personally would let your son explore this sort of s**t and make his own mind up about it.. maybe you can engage with him in conversations surrounding it and why you may think it's a load of twoddle... afterall he is learning and exploring the world and trying to come to grips with what we all try and come to terms with as a teenager
We have all read the Celastine prophecy and all that other s**t, and OK we may be lining the pockets of others but in the process teaching oursleves about the world and our place in it

Totally agree with Paps.
I was reading about flying and levitation at 12. I didn't turn out too bad, can't fly nor levitate though

If the writer has found the way to total abundance and happiness, then why is he trying to peddle a book for $37- ? (and trying so hard, by the way).
Surely he must be rich and happy beyond imagination by now. If he understands the Law of Karma so well, why does he not publish his book free on line, and help mankind with his wisdom ?

Agree with Leonn too and feel the same way but that's not relevant to a 14yo who is finding his place in the world

Theres something really irresponsible about promoting such utter s**te as this book, along with all the other charlatan types out there - think it and it will happen to you twaddle. I wouldnt buy it for him , I would instead explain why you dont believe in it, tell him to borrow it from the library if he needs to explore further, and then offer a more realistic alternative. Any book whereby the writer has has a true and honest experience of their life becoming better through hard work/ adversity etc, is better than 'think yourself rich' or whatever. Try such books like Into The Wild, that one about Ice climbers leaving their mate ( can't remember the name!!!), i.e.where people overcome adversity to succeed, and in turn learn a few things along the way ) good and bad). Please do not promote to your son that if he wants something he only has to think about it enough and he will get it without trying. Please.......!
I wish all authors like this away, including idiots like Paul McKenna, who are trying to tell us you can think yourself thin/rich/gorgeous.

ive told him we better go to a bookstoire together and find a suitable book there, he seems to want to improve himself which i think is great, however a bit mature for a 14 years old to go and read a book about that ,,,,,
anyhow, thanks for your comments, i think that ebook is a load of crap too

You should not deprive your son from his search , whatever the book appears to be , he will still gain from it with his own insight.
I remember I used to read quite a load of this similar life motivational books when I was 12 . One of the quotes I am still using since then is : ' When God hands you a lemon, make lemon juice out of it. '
I even put honey in my lemon juice these days.
$37 is nothing when he is happy with getting what he wants and can make use of it whichever way. Never underestimate the potential of a keen teenager

Well, he'll learn that a fool and his money are easily parted, if nothing else, and all the more quickly if it's his own money.

Well said, Big Green Man.
Good review here: http://www.reason.com/news/show/119132.html (not specifically on the book 2H2H refers to but on the general "power of positive thinking"/self-help ethos).

At 14 years old he should be reading porn, On The Road and maybe the lyrics to rock songs.

Of course it's appropriate reading. He wants to empower himself. Good for him. He doesn't know yet that there is no bloody Santa, no bloody secret either... but until he finds out, let him read whatever crap Oprah tells him to read. It won't do any harm. Once he realizes that those books are full of s**t, give him Catcher in the Rye...

Wise choice. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas will do wonders for him too.
