Amateur. Either you've forgotten or weren't here in 2005 when it rained solidly for almost two months. There were only TWO days of non-rain (that's not even "sunny", that's just "no rain") through the whole of July.

"2005. Locally in Hong Kong, 2005 was the third wettest year on record. The total rainfall of 3214.5 millimetres was 45.2 percent above normal."

I guess collectively the gods were hoping to break that record this time a round?

And it wasn't just piddly rain either. Full-on chucking it down, it were. Day after tedious day.

Can't be much more rainfall this week before the animals start queuing up in pairs down at the Central ferry pier

Back in to HK this weekend. Not that the change of country will do much for the change in scenery.

Wonder if I will need to wear a life jacket to Macau this weekend? Will my boat float?

oh gawd, why complain of rainy season, suggestion: move to a place where it never rains!

theres actually a very good balance in weather in HK however for me the sumers are too long and hot, hence some day ill move away

But this is a very unusual rainy season. Worst flooding in HK since like a century.

huh unusual rainy season? you must be joking me. how long have you been here?

btw flooding has more to do with blocked drains then with rain

Yes, I like HK weather better than Singapore anyday.

2H2H, just turn up the air con and stay inside.

This is not unusual weather.. it's rainy season for goodness sake

I actually like the rain cos it takes the edge off the heat just p**ses me off when I get my legs of trouser wet

This is Wing Lok St., Sheung Wan during the floods of '05 - it was much worse this time - water was waist high / car window high....

Check out the cab in the pic - driver drove onto the pavement ram (towards MTR exit) ... smartarse! Bet he still got a ticket tho!

to be, or not to be, what was the question?
